Typography is often seemingly lost behind its artwork. Yet, typography is an essential part of design and ties back to the very foundation of art. Utilizing aspects of proximity, familiarity, hierarchy, space, and balance, typography is an art form in of itself that is used to place emphasis and draw attention to information that is important for the audience. These aspects fall into the categories of the Gestalt theory, a psychological theory that argues the human mind can recognize patterns based on certain categories. In this project, I was able to apply a variety of these aspects to create a cohesive poster that replies on simplicity and emphasizes the text in an artistic manner.
